The 15th edition of the “La mer en livres” fair will open its doors on April 30 in Le Conquet - Le Conquet

The next “La mer en livres” show, 15th edition, will take place on Saturday April 30 and May 1, at the Espace Tissier in Le Conquet. For the president, Annaïg Huelvan, the restart after two years of stoppage was difficult but the twenty volunteers are very motivated, with a mixture of enthusiasm and anxiety. The selection work has been carefully thought out and the authors are happy to come back or discover this quality and friendly show. There will be 28 of them and the chosen theme is: “Periples”.

Make culture accessible

“And because a literary journey often begins with a meeting, the actor Florian Maisonnave, happy troublemaker of the Cie “Qui s’y glue” in Brest, will chain occasional readings in the open air and other joyful literary ramblings. If you don’t come to the books, the books will come to you! “says Annaïg Huelvan. She recalls that the objective of this fair is to make culture accessible, while keeping a playful side to attract the public.

Four conferences and an exhibition

The municipal council chamber will be made available to give four conferences: on Saturday, at 2 p.m., “Living poetry in Brittany” by Alain-Gabriel Monot to meet the major figures of poetry in Brittany, led by Jean-Pierre Boulic; Saturday, 4.30 p.m., “Pythéas, the first polar explorer” by François Garde. It leads us to discover the Frozen Sea; Sunday, at 10 a.m., “Powerful Breton women” by Joël Cornette, Laurence Moal and Lila Raoult, shedding light on the political and social role of women in Brittany; and on Sunday, at 3 p.m., “Clipperton, Passion Island” by Râmine, on the ecological state of the oceans.

The show will also host a photo exhibition by Bertrand Lesort, walking companion of François Garde in Kerguelen.
